Regional Partnership Coordinator "VI"… at University of… · Windsor
Job Description
POSITION TITLE: Regional Partnership Coordinator
CLASSIFICATION: Classification “VI” per Schedule A of the collective agreement
DEPARTMENT: Office of Enrolment Management
HOURS OF WORK: Monday to Friday 8:30am – 4:30pm
The University of Windsor is situated on the traditional territory of the Three Fires Confederacy of First Nations: the Ojibwa, the Odawa, and the Potawatomie. We respect the longstanding relationships with First Nations people in this place in the 100-mile Windsor-Essex peninsula and the straits – les détroits – of Detroit.
PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Regional Partnership Coordinator (RPC) supports the University of Windsor’s global engagement agenda by coordinating institutional partnerships, regional intelligence, and international engagement activities within an assigned geographic portfolio.
This role is part of a broader institutional shift toward a more coordinated and strategic approach to global engagement, including the expansion of transnational education (TNE), research partnerships, and global learning opportunities.
Working within the strategic framework established by the Associate Vice-President, Global Engagement, the RPC plays a coordination and integration role, ensuring that partnership activity across education, transnational education (TNE), mobility, and international research collaboration is coherent, well-documented, and aligned with institutional priorities and governance frameworks.
While the role is coordination-focused and does not lead partnership strategy or negotiations, it plays a critical enabling function—supporting informed decision-making, surfacing regional insights, and ensuring institutional engagement is well-coordinated and positioned for success. The RPC enables effective institutional engagement by maintaining a comprehensive regional view of partners and initiatives, supporting internal coordination across portfolios, and ensuring continuity, follow-through, and high-quality institutional records.
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:
The candidate will possess:
• Completion of a postsecondary degree in international relations, public administration, business, communications, or a related field.
• Minimum three years of relevant experience in higher education, international partnerships, research administration, or complex coordination roles.
• Demonstrated lived experience working within global engagement or international partnership environments, including regular interaction with international partners, faculty, researchers, or globally mobile students, and practical exposure to the cultural, regulatory, and institutional complexities of cross-border collaboration.
• Strong organizational skills with demonstrated ability to manage multiple files, coordinate across stakeholders, and meet deadlines.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with cultural awareness and professionalism in global contexts.
• Proficiency with databases, spreadsheets, and institutional systems (e.g., MoveOn or equivalent).
• Demonstrated understanding of the Canadian postsecondary environment and international engagement landscape.
• Experience working within matrixed or cross-functional organizational structures is an asset.
• Familiarity with the education systems, research environments, and partnership norms of the assigned region is considered a strong asset.
• Demonstrated understanding of institutional protocol, professional diplomacy, and cultural norms required to support senior-level international engagements and visiting delegations.
• Demonstrated ability to exercise discretion, sound judgment, and confidentiality when supporting sensitive institutional, partnership, or research-related matters.
