Senior Compliance Officer
Location: Camperdown Campus
Full time fixed term position until April 2027
Work on high-impact legislative compliance initiatives within a leading university environment
Base Salary $146,197 + 17% superannuation
About the opportunity
This role sits within the Office of General Counsel, providing expert advice on legislative compliance and its impact on the University’s risk profile. As a Senior Compliance Officer, you will lead key compliance initiatives, maintain critical frameworks, and partner with stakeholders to strengthen a proactive compliance culture. Your work will directly influence institutional governance, risk mitigation, and regulatory alignment.
Your key responsibilities will be to:
work closely with senior management, Risk Management, Internal Audit, and stakeholders across the University
lead monitoring of legislative amendments impacting compliance obligations
maintain and enhance the Legislative Compliance Framework
develop and update the Legislative Compliance Register
provide expert advice on legislative changes and associated controls
design and deliver compliance reviews and assurance activities
oversee compliance incident reporting and triage processes
About you
demonstrated experience interpreting and applying legislation within a complex organisation
experience managing compliance frameworks, registers, or assurance activities
tertiary qualification in law, public policy, or a related discipline (or equivalent experience)
experience engaging and influencing diverse stakeholder groups in large environments
proven ability to develop and implement compliance or risk initiatives
experience contributing to governance reporting and briefing materials.
