OVERVIEW
JOB TITLE: Student Contract Administrator/Summer 2026
LOCATION: St Paul CampusRAY RATE: $18-20 per hour
Hours: 20-30 hours this summer with option for hours this fall
JOB SUMMARY
Join the Purchasing Services team to gain valuable skills in contract management including, drafting agreements, reviewing terms and conditions, obtaining signatures based on university signature authority, negotiating with vendors, and providing superior service to departments that request agreements.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Coordinate contract-related activities, both with internal departments and external vendors.
- Draft and assist in negotiating contracts on behalf of University of St. Thomas in collaboration with University faculty, staff and others as appropriate.
- Provide high quality customer service to the University community.
- Facilitate contract system storage, indexing and data retention.
- Handle other contract related projects as assigned.
This position offers flexible hours and allows you explore the legal side of business to enhance the success of your academic, personal, and professional goals. You will learn about contracts and negotiation and will sharpen your written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills while contributing to the University’s success.
QUALIFICATIONS
- This position requires a student who is currently enrolled in University of St. Thomas School of Law, with a contracts course completed or in-progress.
- The student must be an innovative, independent thinker with quality communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Candidates for this position must have strong active listening skills and have the capacity to execute a high volume of documents daily. Accuracy is crucial.
- General knowledge of contracts and negotiation preferred.
