JOB SUMMARY:

The Theology Department is seeking a reliable, creative, and engaged student to join our team as an Office Assistant. In this role, you’ll support the daily operations of the department while helping create a welcoming and connected environment for students, faculty, and visitors.

 

What You’ll Do

• Provide general administrative support, including photocopying, scanning documents, answering the office phone, and assisting faculty with departmental needs
• Assist with department events (set-up, execution, and clean-up)
• Utilize Canva to design and distribute flyers and promotional materials for events, programs, and announcements
• Engage with students by answering questions and connecting them to resources
• Support Theology tutors and collaborate with faculty on day-to-day operations
• Organize and maintain spreadsheets and departmental data using Excel
• Oversee the cleanliness of the Common Good Scholars Lounge as a welcoming space for students
• Assist with the custodial maintenance of the department’s main office, work room, and break room
• Help decorate and prepare the department for holidays and special events
• Build relationships with students and faculty to foster community

• Strong organizational and time-management skills
• Basic knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Canva
• Willingness to learn new tools and skills
• Interest or experience in design and communications
• Comfortable interacting with students, faculty, and staff
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
• Creative, adaptable, and detail-oriented

 

ELIGIBILITY

To be eligible for student employment, St. Thomas students must be degree seeking at the undergraduate, graduate and doctoral levels.
