Job Description
Summary: The University of St. Thomas is seeking a detail-oriented graduate student intern to support the Office of Academic Affairs. This role involves data analysis, program coordination, and administrative support to enhance the Student Tutoring Program and broader academic operations.
Responsibilities:
- Monitor and analyze student engagement in the tutoring program
- Track tutoring session activity with a focus on auditing, reporting, and improving post-session note completion rates
- Identify trends and provide insights to support program improvements
- Maintain data accuracy across systems, including Salesforce and internal databases
- Collect data and create reports related to the Student Tutoring Program
- Monitor student tutor onboarding requirements, including completion of online training and required documentation
- Manage the Tutor Training site and grade tutor training submissions within Canvas
- Track and follow up on post-session tutoring notes in Salesforce
- Maintain digital records and archive confidential documents using Optix
- Provide front-line support by greeting and assisting faculty, staff, students, and visitors
- Assist with form processing, proofreading, filing, and general office operations
- Support event planning and execution (may require occasional evening hours)
- Support preparations for Grad Fest in the spring
- Provide support for office projects as assigned
- Develop skills in data management, reporting, and higher education administration
- Collaborate with professional staff on projects with real institutional impact
- Gain hands-on experience with enterprise systems such as Ellucian Banner
Required Qualifications:
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work both independently and collaboratively
- Demonstrated ability to handle confidential information responsibly
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with data analysis, reporting, or research methods
- Familiarity with Salesforce, Canvas, or similar platforms
- Experience with data tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, Excel dashboards)
- Knowledge of higher education systems (e.g., Banner)
- Experience working with large datasets or administrative systems
