Band Orchestra Assistant at University of St. Thomas in St. Paul, MN

Job Title:Band Orchestra Assistant

Location:St. Paul

Pay: 16.50 per hour

JOB SUMMARY  Band-Orchestra Staff members assist Dr. George and Symphonic Band director with all the administrative needs of the bands and orchestra.    

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: 

• Communicate frequently via email (the Band-Orchestra Staff shared inbox as well as personal email) 

• Set up and tear down chairs/stands/percussion for daily rehearsals Mon-Thu in the SCC spaces and in concert venues on concert days 

• Coordinate with Department Program Coordinator to rent a U-Haul for instrument/equipment transportation to off-site concert venues 

• Organize music and the instrumental music library 

• Coordinate locker and instrument rentals 

• Organize concerts and moving equipment for events  

• Other duties as needed by Dr. George or other Music faculty members 

• Submit hours on a timesheet for payment processing

QUALIFICATIONS  

• Student must be a member of Symphonic Wind Ensemble, Symphonic Band, or Orchestra 

• Ability to lift and move chairs and stands 

• Highly organized and dependable 

• Reliable email communicator

To be eligible for student employment, St. Thomas students must be degree seeking at the undergraduate, graduate and doctoral levels.
