Job Description
Summary: The University of Pennsylvania is a world-renowned leader in education, research, and innovation. The Research Specialist A will support the Principal Investigator and lab by performing various research activities and maintaining lab functions.
Responsibilities:
- The research specialist will support the PI and lab with research activities, assist with various projects involving lab animal maintenance and assays, bioengineering, cell culture and molecular biology skills
- The research specialist will support the PI and lab with daily lab functions including lab organization, ordering supplies, record keeping, cleaning and new student training
- Other duties and responsibilities as assigned
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science and 0 to 1 year of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience is required
- Strong background in chemistry
- Understanding and application of bioengineering
- Interest in dermatology and skin biology
- Strong analytical, organizational and writing skills required
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and ability to quickly learn other software programs
