Job Description
Established through grant funding in 2022, the Center for Public Safety Leadership (CPSL) brings the resources of KLETC and KU together to develop and implement leadership training programs intended to support a person from the time they enter a leadership position until they achieve senior leadership as a chief or sheriff. In addition, the CPSL supports each level of leadership with a certificate program, as well as other professional development courses. The CPSL has locations at the Kansas Law Enforcement Training Center campus located near Hutchinson, KS and on the University of Kansas’ Edwards Campus in Overland Park.
KLETC serves as the central agency for all law enforcement training in the State of Kansas. KLETC manages a $12 million annual budget, 65 authorized staff (augmented by more than 400 contract/adjunct staff annually), and trains nearly 15,000 students annually in residential, online, and outreach programs. KLETC serves 437 recognized law enforcement and police agencies in Kansas, providing basic training and continuing education programs throughout each fiscal year.

The Temp Worker is responsible for development of curriculum and learning objectives for instruction and other tasks, duties and assignments as directed which are related to the instructional mission of the CPSL. The Temp Worker assists in and/or is responsible for the instruction of officers participating in any CPSL programs.
