Job Description
Summary: The University of Illinois Chicago is a prominent urban public research university seeking a Research Associate I (GIS Technician) for the Children's Environmental Health Initiative. This role involves supporting spatial data collection, entry, and management for various research projects.
Responsibilities:
- Technical support for GIS related research projects
- Data processing (e.g., geocoding)
- Dataset management
- Participate in other duties and related projects as assigned
- Perform other related duties and participate in special projects as assigned
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in related field
- A minimum of one year related research experience (including part-time research assistantship experience)
- Entry level knowledge of research concepts, practices and procedures
- Experience batch geocoding large datasets
- Ability to write technical documents and research reports
- Ability to work in a team-based environment; meet deadlines in a fast-paced multitasking environment
- Excellent written, visual, and verbal communication skills
