Job Description
Summary: Universal Orlando Resort is offering an internship opportunity in their Art & Design department, focusing on scenic development for entertainment. Interns will support various activities related to themed entertainment design and production, gaining hands-on experience in areas such as set design, graphic design, and character development.
Responsibilities:
- Assists with set scenic design, graphic design, set dressing, and prop fabrication production logistics
- Participates in character development through costume/character design, prosthetics, and makeup design
- Assists with creative development through writing, story/theme development, and show direction
- Assists designers and art supervisors as needed
- Attends production logistics meetings, research, and create reference materials
- Participates in project field work, décor installs/strikes, and décor projects
- Understands and actively participates in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities by following established UO policy, procedures, training, and Team Member involvement activities
- Performs other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications:
- In pursuit of an Associate, Bachelor or Graduate degree at an Accredited Institution with current class standing of Sophomore or above
- Minimum cumulative 2.8 GPA is required
- A transcript is required upon application
Preferred Qualifications:
- Preferred majors include: Theatre, film, fine arts, or related
- Preferred experience in live theater or film and television production
- Preferred SketchUp experience
- Preferred working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite
- Must be efficient in Microsoft Office Programs including, but not limited to: Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Strong interpersonal skills, problem-solving abilities and organization
- Exceptional attention to detail
- Superior written & verbal communication skills
- Work in a fast-paced environment and adhere to deadlines
- Ability to work autonomously and/or in teams
