Job Description
Summary: The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) is focused on the elimination of discrimination against women and girls and the empowerment of women. The Internal Audit Intern will support the development of a technology-driven Internal Audit Risk Assessment utilizing PowerBI and assist in performing risk-based audits of business processes.
Responsibilities:
- Support development of a PowerBI enabled Internal Audit Risk Assessment
- Support the Internal Audit Specialist in identifying the requirements of the dashboard, as well as the requirements for update, data granularity and constraints
- Assist the Internal Audit Specialist with the identification and preparation of data sources. Extract and clean data as needed. Use Power Query to transform data for analysis
- Build the data model including creating relationships between tables, creating calculated columns and measures and organizing metadata
- Develop the report and create the dashboard including building visual components (e.g. charts, maps, etc.). applying consistent formatting and layout; and adding interactivity (e.g. drill‑downs, slicers, etc.)
- Test and validate the dashboard including validating numbers against source systems, confirming interactivity and gathering feedback from team members and updating
- Support the Internal Audit Specialist in developing a manual for performing the Internal Audit Risk Assessment using Power BI
- Support development of technology supported techniques to achieve the Internal Audit Plan
- Support risk-based end-to-end audits for performance/value for money engagements, maturity and risk assessments, governance, compliance, and project management audits through design of data analytics and AI supported approaches for performing tests to support the completion of audit work, increase assurance coverage and/or increase efficiency of procedures
- Design analytics, perform trend analyses, and develop visual narratives that enhance assurance and advisory work
Required Qualifications:
- University studies in any related field, experience with data analytics and PowerBI is required
- Meet one of the following: Be enrolled in a graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent, or higher); Be enrolled in the final academic year of a first university degree programme (minimum Bachelor's level or equivalent); Have graduated with a university degree and, if selected, must commence the internship within a two-year period of graduation; or Be enrolled in a postgraduate professional traineeship program which is part of a degree programme and undertake the internship as part of the program requirements
- Excellent communication skills (written and oral) in English are required
- Demonstrated ability in building PowerBI dashboards
- Demonstrated ability to utilize Artificial Intelligence to develop creative solutions and automate processes
- Experience in developing and using data analytics tools to analyse data
- Exposure to understanding of risks and controls, internal audit, business processes, finance/accounting, project management, programme management
- Due professional care
- Ability to produce timely and quality outputs
- Ability to develop creative solutions
- Energetic self-starter with multi-tasking abilities and discipline with deadlines
- Strong consultative communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to use Microsoft office suite

Benefits: Interns who are not in receipt of financial support from other sources such as universities or other institutions will receive a stipend from UN Women to partially subsidize their basic living costs for the duration of the internship.
