Functional Responsibilities - Assists in performing routine maintenance and repairs on distribution center equipment, including conveyors, forklifts, material handling systems, and other machinery.
- Conducts daily inspections of equipment to identify potential issues and perform necessary repairs or preventative maintenance.
- Performs routine maintenance tasks, including cleaning and minor repairs of building services and systems.
- Handles chemicals and electrical systems with care, following established safety protocols.
- Communication and Collaboration:
- Responds promptly to service requests from operations and other departments, ensuring minimal disruption to daily activities.
- Communicates effectively with team members and supervisors about maintenance activities, equipment status, and safety concerns.
- Collaborates with maintenance and operations teams to coordinate repairs, maintenance schedules, and upgrades to ensure minimal downtime
- Provides technical support for facility-related issues as needed, working in partnership with the broader maintenance team.
- Contributes to the continuous improvement of maintenance processes by identifying recurring issues and recommending solutions to prevent future occurrences.
- Participates in ongoing efforts to improve safety, efficiency, and equipment reliability within the distribution center.
- Supports the implementation of maintenance best practices, new tools, and technologies to optimize performance.
- Tracks maintenance activities and assist with reporting maintenance data to help with performance analysis and future planning
- Participates in training sessions and development opportunities to stay current with new maintenance techniques, equipment technologies, and safety regulations.
- Maintains knowledge of industry standards and best practices for equipment maintenance and facility management.
- Stays informed about changes in safety regulations, chemicals, and other technical updates that may impact maintenance activities.
- Seeks opportunities for cross-training to support other functions within the maintenance team.

Education/Qualifications - REQUIRED
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Basic proficiency in English, including reading, writing, and communication skills.
- Basic understanding of facility systems such as electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and general building maintenance.
- Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 60 pounds on a consistent basis, with the ability to bend, stand, and walk for extended periods.
- Ability to work at heights or in confined spaces as necessary for specific maintenance tasks.
- PREFERRED
- Technical certifications in maintenance or related fields (e.g., HVAC, electrical, mechanical).
- Previous experience in a maintenance role within a distribution center or industrial environment.
- Familiarity with industrial maintenance software or computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).
- Knowledge of preventive maintenance practices and experience with equipment troubleshooting.

Experience - REQUIRED
- A minimum of 2 years of hands-on experience in facility maintenance or a similar role, particularly within a warehouse, distribution center, or industrial setting.
- Proven experience operating basic material handling equipment as forklifts, scrubbers, balers, and basic hand tools.
- Practical understanding of maintaining and troubleshooting basic mechanical systems, electrical components, and small equipment.
- Experience working in compliance with safety standards and procedures in an industrial or warehouse environment.
- Demonstrated ability to identify, troubleshoot, and resolve equipment issues with minimal supervision.
- PREFERRED
- Over 2 years of experience in building/facility maintenance, preferably in a distribution center or manufacturing environment.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., OSHA, Forklift Certification, Maintenance Technician Certification) are highly desirable.
- Experience with specialized systems such as HVAC, plumbing, electrical troubleshooting, or conveyor systems.
- Familiarity with preventive maintenance programs and practices aimed at reducing downtime and increasing equipment lifespan.
- Proven track record of collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams (e.g., operations, safety, and management) to resolve issues and maintain operations.
