Summary: UniFirst Corporation is an international leader in garment and uniform services, currently employing over 14,000 team partners. The Payroll Associate plays a critical role in ensuring timely payroll operations and providing exceptional customer service regarding payroll inquiries.
Responsibilities:
- Triage incoming payroll service tickets and phone calls, providing initial guidance on basic payroll inquiries and directing them to the appropriate teams for further investigation
- Promptly and accurately respond to customer service inquiries via phone call, email or service request
- Offer guidance to location managers and office administrators on various payroll processing tasks
- Establish and maintain positive relationships with employees at all levels within the company
- Generate, distribute, and review various quality control reports to help identify and prevent errors
- Update employee personal and job information in the HRIS system (PeopleSoft HCM)
- Save, categorize, and upload various payroll forms received through emails or service tickets
- Supports the Payroll Team with various tasks and projects, including scanning paperwork, processing and maintaining payroll documents, performing ad-hoc data entry projects, and providing in-office support as needed (typically two days per week)
Required Qualifications:
- Four years of college education in Business Administration/HR/Finance -OR-
- Two years of college education in Business Administration/HR/Finance and one years relevant experience in Payroll or customer service roles -OR-
- Two years relevant experience in Payroll or customer service roles
- Computer skills – Including proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel
- Organized - Possessing the trait of being organized or following a systematic method of performing a task
- Interpersonal - Ability to work well with a variety of personalities and individuals
- Communication, Oral - Ability to communicate effectively with others using the spoken word
- Communication, Written - Ability to communicate in writing clearly and concisely
- Responsible - Ability to be held accountable or answerable for one's conduct
- Resource Management (People & Equipment) - Ability to obtain and appropriate the proper usage of equipment, facilities, materials, as well as personnel
