Job Description
Summary: Ultra Electronics Group is dedicated to advancing naval technology and empowering the U.S. Navy. They are seeking a Systems Engineering Intern to support the development of new Radar systems, working closely with various engineering teams throughout the system development lifecycle.
Responsibilities:
- Support the development of new Radar systems
- Work closely with RF, Mechanical, Electrical, and Software Engineers
- Support the system development from initial design, through design finalization, and through the integration and test phases
- Support the development and selection of key technologies for the Navy
- Work with complex software algorithms and cutting-edge digital signal processing hardware
Required Qualifications:
- Currently enrolled as at least a Sophomore in Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or related engineering or scientific discipline, ideally with a GPA of 3.0 or more
- Ability to obtain a US Government security clearance. Security clearances are granted to U.S. citizens
Preferred Qualifications:
- Strong attention to detail and work ethic
- Experience within the systems engineering discipline
- Experience with Radar systems, other RF based systems, or similar signal processing systems
- Laboratory support skills including electronics test equipment usage and setup and use of Linux-based systems
- Planning, reviewing, and executing integration and test events for combined hardware and software systems
- Documenting and specifying system and subsystem level requirements
- Working with a team to jointly develop a system during various phases of the development lifecycle
- Matlab, Mathcad, or other Modeling Languages and/or Python
- Model Based Systems Engineering
