Summary: UL Standards & Engagement (ULSE) is a non-profit organization dedicated to advancing safety science and creating a sustainable world. They are seeking a Strategic Initiatives Intern to support their organizational strategy through research, project coordination, and executive support during a 3-month internship. Responsibilities: - Support the execution of ULSE’s multi-year organizational strategy by conducting research and synthesizing insights on industry trends, technology, and policy - Assist in preparing strategic updates, presentations, and briefing materials for executive leadership - Help coordinate and deliver on a cross-functional strategic project, for example technology roadmaps and new product/service evaluations - Monitor external developments in standards and safety advocacy, summarizing findings to inform ULSE’s strategic priorities and decisions Required Qualifications: - Currently enrolled in a bachelor's or advanced degree program in a related field - Strong interest in the non-profit sector related to safety, social or environmental issues, and/or strategy, organizational development, or management - Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate complex information into clear actions - Excellent communication and writing skills - Highly organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple tasks - Collaborative mindset and eagerness to learn in a dynamic environment - Experience with Microsoft Office Suite, particularly PowerPoint and Excel; experience with data analytics or visualization tools is a plus Required Skills: Analytical skills, Microsoft Office Suite Important Skills: Data analytics tools Nice-to-Have Skills: Organizational development, Collaborative mindset
