The Finance Director will be responsible for managing and updating the CUS Equity & Inclusion’s budget and funding throughout the year. Flexibility will also be given to the Finance Director to take on additional tasks or roles that they are interested in pursuing.

Time Commitment
3-8 hours/week
Term of Employment
June 2026 - April 2027
Main Responsibilities
Create, manage, and update the CUS Equity & Inclusion’s budget sheet.
Secure funding through sponsorships, grants, and funding opportunities.
Handle reimbursements and liaise with our Financial Analyst.
Conduct cost analysis projects for purchases throughout the year.
Collaborate with teammates (especially Marketing and Events).
Reporting to and working with the Equity Advisors on all assigned work.
Provide assistance at BizWeek and all E&I events.
Attend weekly team meetings.
Qualifications
UBC Sauder Undergraduate Student.
Strong analytical and quantitative skills or a willingness to learn.
Proficient communication and organization skills.
Ability to conduct research on products and prices.
Committed to advocating for inclusivity and belonging at UBC Sauder.
A strong desire to learn from diverse perspectives.
Able to work independently (with guidance).
Anticipated Learning Outcomes
The Finance Director will be able to develop their financial and organizational skills throughout their term. As members of the equity commission, you will also be able to meet and develop connections with professionals working in Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion. In addition, the Finance Director will have opportunities to use and develop skills in (but not limited to) the following areas:
Finance and Bookkeeping
Community Building and Student Advocacy
Understanding of Social Justice and EDI Principles
