Summary: This position will serve as project lead on various U.S. GAAP and SEC technical accounting issues by researching complex transactions and new accounting guidance independently assessing implications documenting conclusions communicating with the impacted businesses and coporate departments training and or managing an implementation plan. Routinely provide technical accounting guidance in various areas such as: contracts revenue recognition leases derivatives VIE assessments impairment analysis acquisitions divestitures and overall application of new and existing accounting standards. Work proactively with technical team larger corporate accounting organization and or external auditors to drive timely closure of technical accounting matters. Requirements: Education: Bachelor s degree in an academic field directly related and essential to this job Accounting or Finance degree preferred Experience: 5 plus years of related experience preferred Computer Skills: Working knowledge of SAP and basic knowledge of Microsoft Office applications including Excel Word and Powerpoint preferred Communication Skills: Excellent written presentation and verbal communication skills Special skills: Certified Public Accountant preferred but not required Excellent technical accounting knowledge and ability to research complex GAAP accounting standards and document conclusions Strong team oriented skills as well as a high level of self-motivation in working independently Ability to work with a diverse group of people across various levels functions and locations Track record for exceeding multiple goals on various short term projects simultaneously Supervisory: Supervises one direct report Travel: 1 to 5 domestic trips a year
