JOB SUMMARY

The Custodian is responsible for maintaining assigned buildings and areas' cleanliness, safety, and functionality. This role ensures a clean, sanitary, and welcoming environment for children, staff, and guests.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Clean and disinfect classrooms, offices, restrooms, dining areas, and common spaces daily.
2. Sweep, mop, vacuum, dust, and wash surfaces, including windows and walls. 3. Empty trash and recycling bins regularly and replace liners.
3. Restock restroom supplies as needed.
4. Replace light bulbs as needed.
5. Monitor building conditions and immediately report any maintenance or safety issues.
6. Assist in setting up and breaking down furniture and equipment for events and activities. 8. Ensure all areas are cleaned and restored after events.
7. Assist with maintaining clean and safe outdoor walkways, including removing snow, leaves, and debris.
8. Follow established safety protocols for handling cleaning chemicals and operating equipment.
9. Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations at all times.
10. Other duties as assigned by the direct supervisor.

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS

1. Must affirm and sign our Statement of Faith
2. A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
3. Physical ability to lift 50 lbs
4. Knowledge of cleaning protocols, chemicals, and proper storage is preferred. 4. Must have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
5. Must have excellent organizational and time management skills.
6. Ability to work well with others.
7. Be available, flexible, dependable, punctual, and reliable.
8. Have tact, integrity, and diplomacy.
9. Critical thinking and decision-making skills.
10. Ability to maintain the strictest of confidentiality.
