Job Description
Summary: TTM Technologies, Inc. is a leading global manufacturer of technology products and is seeking an EHS Engineer to manage wastewater and health & safety systems. The role involves overseeing projects, ensuring compliance with regulations, and improving processes within the EHS discipline.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee and coordinate projects including new start-up, upgrading existing processes and looking for more cost effective and efficient ways to run all water/wastewater treatment facilities
- Design and oversee construction of all EHS improvement projects throughout the business unit including overseeing contractors that are on site for environmental purposes
- Develop and analyze data to create predictive models for use in waste treatment & industrial hygiene processesWork with production to be proactive with any design/process changes that will have an environmental or employee health impact
- Assist in conducting Industrial Hygiene monitoring and data analysisAssist in conducting environmental and safety site evaluations in conjunction with the EHS department and 3rd party environmental consultants to develop efficient site compliance strategiesManage compliance data, reporting and permit application processesMaintain knowledge of current and prospective compliance regulations and changesInterface with State & Local authorities to assure compliance applications and documents meet expectationsResponsibilities include the reporting of all accidents, near misses and safety concerns
- Perform job duties utilizing the required and appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).Full participation in safety training and the ability to understand and follow the directions identified in Job Safety Analysis (JSA), PPE Assessments, Safety Data Sheets (SDS) and all Safety Procedures and alerts
- Facilitates and attends meetings, communicates regularly with managers and supervisors, suggests and composes procedural changes, attends special training, maintains a clean, safe work environment and communicates to supervisors’ safety hazards and issues
- Seek, plan, schedule and complete improvement and cost savings projectsAssist in daily operations during times of emergency, special circumstances and/or short staff periods
- Manage hazardous waste storage and compliance and sign off on DOT hazardous waste manifests
Required Qualifications:
- Four Year Degree in a related field required; Chemical Engineering, Environmental Engineering or Environmental Science a plus
- Must possess good interpersonal, analytical, verbal and written communication skills
- Must be confident presenting in front of employees, be able to connect with others, build relationships and influence behaviors in a professional manner
- Must be able to multitask and lead by example
- Good mathematical skills
- Good computer skills: Microsoft Office, Microsoft Outlook (email)
- Must be reliable and dependable; able to operate independently and follow through on assignments
- Must be a fast learner, yet comfortable asking questions or for support when unsure of knowledge or actions required
- Reads and understands blueprints, specifications and procedures preferred
- While this is primarily a first shift position, incumbent must be flexible to work alternate shifts or weekends as necessary
- Has good reading vision, and is able to sit for up to 10 hours per day
- Due to ITAR requirements, applicants must be a U.S. Citizen or a Permanent Resident
- Regular attendance is an essential job function of this position
- Internship, academic or work experience in Water Resources strongly preferred
