Job Description
Summary: TTM Technologies, Inc. is a leading global manufacturer of technology products, and they are seeking a Data Engineering Intern to assist in designing, developing, and maintaining data infrastructure that supports manufacturing operations. The intern will collaborate with cross-functional teams on database development, data integration, and process automation over a 12-14 week period.
Responsibilities:
- Design and implement database solutions to replace manual, file-based data processes
- Develop data pipelines and automation workflows to improve data accessibility and reliability
- Integrate machine data and manufacturing systems to enable real-time monitoring and analysis
- Query, clean, and transform data from multiple sources to support operational decision-making
- Collaborate with manufacturing and engineering teams to understand data requirements and deliver solutions
- Apply technical knowledge to support projects involving capacity models, utilization rates, and manufacturing performance metrics
- Document data structures, processes, and technical workflows
- Present project outcomes to the local leadership team
- Limited travel required for workshops and trade shows
Required Qualifications:
- Proficiency in SQL and relational database concepts
- Ability to work with structured and unstructured data from disparate sources
- Strong problem-solving skills with attention to data accuracy and system reliability
- Eagerness to learn manufacturing processes and apply technical skills to industrial applications
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
- Capability to work independently and manage project timelines
- Current college Junior or Senior earning Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Data Science, Management Information Systems, or related field
- Coursework or project experience in database management and programming
- Experience in applying technical concepts to solve real-world problems
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with data manipulation and analysis using R (dplyr and other tidyverse packages) or equivalent programming languages
