R&D Test Intern at TRUMPF North America in Cranbury, NJ

Summary: TRUMPF North America is a family-run, high-tech company looking for forward thinkers to join their team. The R&D Test Intern will work in the Semiconductor Laser Test team, learning about high power lasers and assisting in the setup of test stations, data collection, and software development for automation. Responsibilities: - Learn High Power Semiconductor Laser Basics and How to perform test on laser diodes - Support test engineer to set up test stations and perform test - Collect, process, and analyze raw test data - Develop Python, MATLAB, or LabVIEW program to automate data collection, improve test efficiency, and analyze large datasets - Document test results and report results to the engineering team Required Qualifications: - College student in Science or Engineering major or have strong interests in hands-on testing, programming and laser physics - Familiar with programming tool, such as Python, C# or LabVIEW or others, experience with hardware-in-the-loop or database programming - Teamwork, high quality standards and excellent oral and written communication skills essential - Must be able to wear a clean room gown and work in a clean room environment - This is an onsite position with 30 hours minimum weekly Preferred Qualifications: - Experience with optical components (detectors, cameras, lenses, etc.) and electrical equipment (oscilloscopes, power meters, DC power supplies, etc.) is preferred Required Skills: Python, LabVIEW Important Skills: C#, Data Analysis, Optical Components
