Assistant Superintendent
Bella Verde Golf Club (formerly Montebello Golf Course), located in Montebello, CA, is pleased to announce an excellent career opportunity for a full-time Assistant Superintendent! We are seeking a motivated individual who is interested in contributing to a positive experience for our members and guests while continuing to grow their knowledge of golf club operations. As an associate of Troon, you will contribute to a global leader in golf and community management.
- Supervises and trains the foreman, irrigation technician, and other employees in the maintenance department.
- Prepares weekly schedules for the foreman, irrigation staff, and other employees in the maintenance department.
- Monitors inventory and use of all maintenance equipment, preventive maintenance schedules, and safety training.
- Works closely with the Superintendent in managing the annual budget and maintenance recordkeeping.
- Works closely with the Superintendent in preparing short-term and long-term agronomic strategies for golf course maintenance, including daily, weekly, monthly, and yearly fertilization and irrigation schedules.
- Calibrates and operates pesticide sprayers.
- Institutes and implements all Troon Human Resources guidelines.
- Assists the Superintendent in informing members about present and future maintenance activities.
- Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor or manager.

- Supervisory experience required.
- Must possess basic computer skills, including Word and Excel.
- Must have a strong business aptitude and passion for the golf business.
- Must be highly organized and efficient with a high attention to detail.
- Must have exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
- Must possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Knowledge of budgeting and expense management.
- Three or more years of turfgrass management experience preferred.
- Four-year college degree preferred, but not required.
- GCSAA membership or apprentice status preferred, but not required.
