Job Description
Summary: Trinity Capital Inc. is an international alternative asset manager seeking a part-time Accounting Intern in Phoenix, Arizona. The internship offers hands-on experience in financial accounting and reporting, with exposure to treasury, financial planning, and investment valuation.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in day-to-day accounting and loan servicing
- Assist with monthly and quarterly closing procedures, GAAP financial statements, and the preparation of supporting documentation
- Perform account reconciliations and variance analyses
- Help ensure AP activities comply with internal controls and SOX requirements
- Perform other accounting duties as required or assigned
- Collaborate with FP&A, Valuations, and Treasury teams on projects
Required Qualifications:
- Upperclassman in Accounting Major
- Overall GPA of 3.5 or better (on a 4.0 scale)
- Knowledge of financial statement production, including balance sheet; income statement; and general ledger
- Financial analysis skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly with Excel
- Solid working knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
- Strong financial analysis skills including strong Excel skills
- Detail-oriented
- Highly organized
- Ability to perform under pressure
- Ability to sit, stand, talk, utilize a computer, and read computer screens for extended periods of time
- Maintain consistent, repetitive motion for data entry (typing/clicking)
- Ability to lift up to 20 lbs
- Available for 28 hours/week
Preferred Qualifications:
- Completion of Intermediate Accounting or equivalent preferred
