Biomedical Engineering Intern at TRIMEDX in Newark, NY

The Biomedical Engineering Intern will gain on-the-job training by shadowing experienced engineers and will be involved in understanding hospital operations, responding to service calls, and performing preventative maintenance procedures. Responsibilities: - Gain on the job training by shadowing experienced clinical engineers, biomedical engineers, lab engineers, and radiology engineers under the close supervision of TRIMEDX management - Understand the typical day of an engineer and how to work in a hospital environment - Respond to service calls - Learn how to balance workload, document repairs and PMs, vendor management, calibrate equipment, troubleshoot equipment - Train on preventive maintenance procedures, electrical safety, and how to repair equipment - Perform preventative maintenance procedures, inventory validation, and work alongside experienced technicians in a real-time service environment - All other duties as assigned Required Qualifications: - Be currently enrolled in an associate's, technical degree program, or the TRIMEDX Trained Certification or an equivalent biomedical related certification program - Must be able to pass pre-employment screening which will include a limited background check and screen for illegal substance use - Valid driver's license required; variable travel requirements depending on primary site or region that may require use of personal vehicle Preferred Qualifications: - Experience working with biomedical equipment in a clinical engineering environment preferred - Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills - Strong written and verbal communication skills Required Skills: Biomedical equipment, Clinical engineering environment, Preventive maintenance procedures, Electrical safety, Equipment calibration, Troubleshooting techniques, Inventory validation, Customer service skills, Written and verbal communication skills
