Role Summary

To assist in organising, directing and co-coordinating the activities of the Fleet, employed drivers, agency drivers and the resources necessary for the safe, efficient and economic movement of freight to and from airlines and agents in the Aberdeen area.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Answering inbound telephone calls quickly and efficiently.
• Receiving telephone and email instructions from clients and recording relevant details accurately on the company’s data management system.
• Maintaining customer service levels at the highest standard by ensuring a rapid response to their requirements.
• Dealing with telephone inquiries from company and Independent Service Providers quickly and efficiently.
• Identifying needs and establishing client requirements.
• Identifying opportunities to improve the service and reporting these to Depot Manager.
• Planning optimum utilisation of Independent Service Providers.
• Planning optimum utilisation of all company owned vehicles.
• Obtaining and processing information to enable appropriate decisions to be made.
• Ensuring accurate storage and prompt retrieval of information.
• Developing positive relationships with clients, colleagues and team members and supporting the Warehouse and Traffic personnel.
• Promoting good working practices and procedures with particular reference to the company’s ISO standards.
• Acting responsibly towards colleagues and team members in relation to regulations and requirements in respect of Health and Safety and Aviation Security.
• Locate cargo safely and accurately in warehouse racking and bay system.
• Ensure cargo discrepancies are correctly identified, recorded and notified to the Depot Manager.
• Completion of records for goods received and dispatched through the warehouse.

Experience & Qualifications

• Understands Health & Safety and Aviation Security protocols.
• Knowledge of Logistics and Freight forwarding function.
• Ability to handle pressure in unforeseen circumstances.
• Flexibility in working hours.
• Customer focused.
• Good influencing skills.
• Procedurally proficient.
• Ability to communicate at all levels with strong communication skills.
• Organised with excellent planning skills.
• Ability to work under pressure in a busy fast paced environment.
• Able to think ahead and foresee any potential challenges.
• Strong I.T skills.
• Good geographical knowledge.

Contract Type

• Permanent.

Shift & Working Days / Hours / Breaks

• Days.
• Monday to Friday.
• 1-hour unpaid break daily.
