Job Description
Summary: Transamerica is a leading financial services company that provides innovative solutions to help people plan for their future. As a Product Strategist, you will be responsible for product development and management of U.S. funds, overseeing their lifecycle and ensuring their viability, while working collaboratively within a diverse team.
Responsibilities:
- Define, develop and deliver products to support Transamerica Asset Management’s strategy and product management function
- Develop new U.S. funds, including product design, investment vehicle(s), and implementation
- Oversee product management of U.S. investment vehicles and sub-funds, including ongoing profitability analysis, review of fund fees and expenses, and interaction with Management Company, intermediaries and regulatory/compliance units
- Recommend changes to fund structures, expense allocations, total expense ratios (TER), and rationalization of individual funds and/or sub funds
- Carry out sub-advisory relationship management
- Represent the team during meetings with senior management and stakeholders; provide guidance and assist with issue resolution
- Create and deliver presentations to senior management and peers on R&D research outcomes; highlight strategic recommendations for new products, enhancements, etc
- Promote overall strategy and day-to-day tactics
- Support with complex, strategic projects, including commercial, regulatory, and governance
- Contribute to market analysis to identify product opportunities and improve the competitive positioning of the product range
- Contribute to the development of marketing support, including key messaging and promotion to support sales efforts, asset retention, and drive awareness
- Collaborate with training team on product training calls and materials
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in a business related field or equivalent experience
- 1-3 years of experience in a product management/product development role
- Experience in a sales-driven, multi-channel, distribution environment
- In-depth understanding of the mutual fund industry as it relates to the UCITS and non-UCITS environment
- In-depth understanding of investment products, the financial industry, and capital markets
- Knowledge of structuring and the operation of: Mutual Funds, ETFs, SMAs, and CITs in U.S. jurisdictions
- Strategic thinker and self-starter to drive strategy for the product portfolio
- Analytical skills to translate information into strategic and tactical recommendations
- Communication skills to deliver presentations and create investment content for delivery through print and digital mediums
- Project management skills
- Team player with excellent interpersonal skills to establish and maintain relationships with business groups at all levels of the organization
- Experience using industry databases (e.g. Morningstar, eVestment, Simfund, Lipper, Bloomberg)
- Proficient using MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
