About Waypoint Trading Solutions

Waypoint Trading Solutions (a TNS business) is the infrastructure behind global trading. Formed in 2026 from the combination of TNS Financial Markets and Radianz, Waypoint delivers secure, high-performance trading infrastructure — combining ultra-low latency connectivity, the world’s largest financial extranet, and fully managed market data solutions. We help financial institutions execute strategies faster, more reliably, and with greater confidence across global markets.

About the Role

We’re looking for a skilled DevOps Software Engineer who will take full ownership of the DevOps and infrastructure layer for a growing suite of modern internal tools, web applications, and backend services. You’ll build everything from scratch — defining architecture, making key technology decisions, and delivering robust, scalable, high-performance infrastructure and deployment pipelines across multiple projects. This is a true greenfield opportunity with no legacy code to maintain. You’ll have significant autonomy to shape reliable, automated systems while collaborating closely with a strong Python backend team (already building robust APIs), product stakeholders, and internal sysadmins in a self-hosted, Linux-first environment.

Responsibilities

Tech Environment

• Python, Javascript, TypeScript • Infrastructure: Linux servers, Docker, Nginx (reverse proxy + SSL termination) • CI/CD: Self-hosted GitLab, Cloud hosted (Azure, AWS) • Deployment: Supported by internal sysadmins, with emphasis on automation, observability, and infrastructure-as-code

Tech Stack Skills

• Python (strongly preferred for scripting and tooling) • Infrastructure as Code: Terraform, Ansible, or similar • Containerization & Orchestration: Docker, Docker Compose (Kubernetes exposure a plus) • CI/CD & Automation: GitLab CI, Bash/Python scripting • Monitoring & Observability: Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack or similar • Cloud/On-prem Hybrid: Experience with self-hosted Linux environments, Nginx, and secure networking • Additional: Experience with React/Next.js frontends for internal tools, Bun/Vitest for any supporting scripts, and modern web deployment practices

Key Responsibilities

• Design and build scalable, performant, secure, and maintainable infrastructure and deployment pipelines for a growing set of internal tools and applications. • Define architecture for CI/CD, infrastructure-as-code, monitoring, logging, and data strategies that support multiple projects. • Partner closely with the Python backend team and frontend engineers to create seamless, automated, API-driven experiences from development to production. • Ensure high quality through testing (unit, integration, E2E), optimization, security best practices, and excellent developer experience. • Manage and evolve CI/CD pipelines in GitLab, Dockerize applications, and implement smooth, repeatable deployments. • Explore and introduce modern DevOps technologies, automation tools, and observability solutions where they provide clear value.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

• 4+ years of professional DevOps or infrastructure engineering experience. • Strong expertise in Linux environments, Docker, Python scripting, and modern CI/CD practices. • Hands-on experience shipping production applications with infrastructure-as-code, containerization, and automated deployments. • Solid understanding of web performance, security, observability, and current infrastructure standards. • Comfortable working with APIs, self-hosted GitLab, Linux/Docker/Git-based environments, and collaborating with development teams. • Effective communicator who enjoys collaborating across teams.

Nice-to-Haves

• Experience with Kubernetes, WebAssembly (Wasm), or edge runtimes. • Background working with self-hosted infrastructure and sysadmin teams. • Open-source contributions or personal projects that demonstrate strong DevOps craftsmanship. • Enthusiasm for experimenting with bleeding-edge tools and frameworks.

What We Offer

• Opportunity to own DevOps and infrastructure architecture across multiple greenfield projects with lasting impact. • Freedom to use (and introduce) cutting-edge technologies in a stable, well-supported environment. • The chance to build systems that power mission-critical global trading infrastructure at Waypoint Trading Solutions.
