About the Position
CO is seeking an experienced and dynamic Chartered Accountant to lead and manage the Finance & Accounts function at its manufacturing operations in Awasi / Mahrooni, Kenya.
The ideal candidate should have a minimum of 15 years of post-qualification experience and should have previously held a senior finance position in a large-scale manufacturing organisation with a turnover of at least INR 500 Crore or equivalent.
The candidate should possess strong hands-on experience in manufacturing finance, accounting, banking, treasury, foreign exchange transactions, imports and exports, project finance, management reporting, audit coordination and team leadership.
The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring strong financial controls, timely closure of accounts, accurate management reporting and effective support to the business and its expansion projects.
Key Responsibilities
1. Finance & Accounts Management
* Lead and supervise the complete Finance & Accounts function of the manufacturing operations.
* Manage and provide strategic and operational guidance to the Finance & Accounts team.
* Ensure accurate, complete and timely recording of all accounting transactions.
* Supervise day-to-day accounting operations and ensure adherence to accounting policies and internal controls.
* Conduct periodic reviews of the Trial Balance (TB), ledgers, reconciliations and accounting schedules.
* Identify accounting issues and guide the team in making necessary corrections and adjustments.
* Ensure timely monthly closing of books of accounts.
* Ensure timely annual finalisation of books of accounts and preparation of financial statements.
* Establish and strengthen appropriate financial controls and processes.
2. Management Reporting & MIS
* Ensure timely preparation and review of monthly Management Information System (MIS) reports.
* Review financial performance against budgets, forecasts and business plans.
* Analyse major variances in revenue, costs, margins, working capital and cash flows.
* Provide meaningful financial analysis and recommendations to senior management.
* Ensure accuracy and timeliness of all financial and management reports.
3. Manufacturing Finance
* Manage finance and accounting activities in a large-scale manufacturing environment.
* Monitor production costs, consumption, wastage, inventory, overheads and manufacturing expenses.
* Review product costing, margins and profitability.
* Monitor cost efficiency and identify opportunities for cost optimisation.
* Work closely with Production, Procurement, Commercial and Operations teams on financial matters.
* Ensure proper accounting and control over raw materials, stores, spares, finished goods and other inventories.
4. Banking & Treasury
* Develop and maintain strong relationships with banks and financial institutions.
* Manage working capital requirements and day-to-day treasury operations.
* Handle fund-based and non-fund-based banking facilities, including Letters of Credit (LCs), bank guarantees and other banking instruments.
* Coordinate with banks for financing, facility enhancement, documentation and other banking requirements.
* Monitor cash flows, liquidity and working capital.
* Ensure optimum utilisation of available banking facilities.
* Negotiate and coordinate with banks for appropriate financial arrangements.
