Hay-level: 100* (Subject to approval hay level evaluation)

Travel: International travel of approximately 20-40% required, depending on customer needs and business priorities

Your role

As Solutions Engineering Leader Middle East, you are responsible for leading the regional Solutions Engineering organization and ensuring the delivery of high-quality, competitive, and customer-focused solutions. You work closely with Sales, Service, Project Execution, and customers to translate business needs into technical concepts and solution designs that create value and support sustainable growth.

In this role, you lead with ownership and empower teams to develop innovative solutions that balance customer requirements, technical excellence, and business objectives. You act as a binding force between Sales and Project Execution, ensuring continuity throughout the customer journey and enabling seamless handovers from concept development to delivery. You organize for continuity and proper handovers between the early phases of solution development and project execution to ensure that we can execute and service what we sell, and execute and service what we sold.

Your responsibilities

• Lead the Middle East Solutions Engineering organization, integrating sales concepting, sales engineering, and project engineering capabilities across the customer solution lifecycle to develop high-quality solution concepts that meet customer needs and business objectives.

• Support strategic customer engagements by translating operational challenges and customer requirements into compelling solution concepts and value propositions.

• Guide solution development activities throughout the sales process, ensuring technical quality, competitiveness, and alignment with Vanderlande standards.

• Act as the binding agent between Sales, Solutions Engineering, Service, and Project Execution, ensuring continuity, knowledge transfer, and successful handovers throughout the customer lifecycle.

• Lead, coach, and develop Solutions Engineering Managers and multidisciplinary engineering teams, fostering a high-performing and collaborative culture.

• Drive continuous improvement, standardization, and knowledge sharing across the regional Solutions Engineering community.

• Collaborate closely with Sales, Service, Project Execution, Product Management, and global engineering teams to support successful business outcomes.

• Ensure solution designs balance customer value, technical feasibility, operational performance, serviceability, and commercial competitiveness.

• Support resource planning, capability development, and talent growth to ensure the region has the expertise needed to support future business opportunities.

• Monitor market developments, customer trends, and emerging technologies to help strengthen Vanderlande's solution offering and competitive position.

• Ensure compliance with Health, Safety and Environment standards while promoting a strong safety culture across the region.

Your team

You will lead the Customer Centre Solutions Engineering organization and work closely with Sales Leaders, Service Leaders, Project Execution teams, Product Management, Engineering specialists, and global support functions.

Together, you develop solutions that help customers across the Middle East improve operational performance and achieve their business goals.

Your profile

Essential

• You have experience leading engineering, solutions, system design, or technical consulting teams within a technical or industrial environment.

• You can translate customer needs into practical, value-driven technical solutions.

• You have experience leading complex solution development activities in a customer-facing environment.

• You can build strong relationships with customers and stakeholders across technical, operational, and commercial functions.

• You have experience leading and developing multidisciplinary teams.

• You can balance customer requirements, technical risks, and business objectives when making decisions.

• You communicate confidently in English and can influence stakeholders across different cultures and organizational levels.

Preferred

• You have experience in automated material handling, airport, parcel, warehouse automation, industrial systems, or a comparable technology-driven environment.

• You have experience supporting large-scale sales opportunities, tenders, and customer solution development.

• You have experience working in an international environment with responsibility across multiple countries and cultures within the Middle East region.
