Tower Crew Leader
Location: Travel-based (3–6 weeks away from home) | Schedule: M–F, weekends/overtime as needed | Hours: 40–60/week
Tower Communications Expert (TCE) is a leader in telecom infrastructure, specializing in building, upgrading, and maintaining wireless networks across towers, small cells, fiber, and microwave systems. We're known for high standards in safety, quality, and customer service.
POSITION SUMMARY
The Crew Leader directs all tower technicians on the job site and ensures the timeliness, quality, and safety of the project. Crew Leaders must have 2-3 years of tower technician experience and the ability to manage crews.
Responsibilities and Duties:
As a Crew Leader the duties include, but are not limited to the following:
Plan, delegate tasks, direct and supervise entire crew (leadership and management skills)
Conduct pre-project meetings and complete all required paperwork
Assess safety hazards and ensure all work is performed following all safety rules and regulations
Effectively train and mentor crew members
Direct successful completion of all scope of work assigned according to construction requirements and quality standards, and within the time frame allotted
Provide troubleshooting and support for integration tasks
Perform administrative tasks including timesheet submittals, daily reports, expense reports, materials list, etc.
Perform punch-walks and submit close out package information
Take responsibility and care for all company equipment, vehicles, and tools
Investigate and report all accidents/incidents; suggest and implement corrective actions
Conduct crew performance reviews, motivate, and provide constructive feedback

Requirements
Qualifications and Skills
Technical & Industry Experience:
Proven experience working with major carriers (AT&T, Verizon, T-Mobile)
OSHA 30 certification required
NWSA TT1, TT2; Foreman certification preferred
Tower Climbing & Rescue and Rigging certifications required (e.g. Comtrain)
Proficient in using test equipment: ODM, PIM, Anritsu, OTDR
Skilled in operating advanced hand/power tools, lifts, trailers, and alignment tools
Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, structural analyses (SA), scopes of work, and project documentation
Leadership & Communication:
Demonstrated ability to lead crews, delegate tasks, and complete assignments within defined parameters and best practices
Strong organizational and problem-solving skills under pressure
Maintains a positive attitude while managing deadlines and team dynamics
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and/or Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Drive, etc.) and Project Management Apps
Logistics & Travel:
Must possess all necessary tools required for the Crew Leader role
Valid Driver’s License with clean driving record; CDL preferred
Ability to operate trucks, trailers, and transport equipment
Willing and able to travel for extended periods (4–6 weeks at a time)
Physical Requirements
Able to climb and work at heights on towers, poles, and rooftops (up to 500’)
Lift and carry at least 70 lbs
Capable of performing essential job functions safely and consistently
Able to work in all weather conditions (rain, snow, heat, high winds), long shifts, and night work
Must pass regular and ongoing drug screenings
Salary Description
$25 to $35 per hour
