Job Description
Summary: Toth and Associates, Inc. (TOTH) is a full-service consulting engineering firm offering a broad range of services. The CAD Technician - 3D is crucial in supporting the engineering team by drafting and preparing detailed project design concepts and construction documents for various civil projects.
Responsibilities:
- Draft project design concepts, plans, and construction documents for various civil projects, including commercial, industrial, and residential developments
- Develop and prepare construction documents to improve public works facilities, including grading, roadway geometric layouts, erosion control, and drainage systems
- Utilize AutoCAD and Civil3D to prepare profiles, alignments, pipe networks, surfaces, and construction drawings and details
- Create detailed drawings and models using written and verbal specifications provided by engineers and project managers
- Examine and check engineering drawings for compliance with cited specifications and industry standards
- Communicate effectively with staff, clients, local jurisdictions, and consultants to coordinate project details and ensure successful project completion
- Maintain an understanding of engineering design work processes and stay updated on commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures within the industry
Required Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Strong understanding of the engineering design work process
- Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D, with skills in preparing profiles, alignments, pipe networks, surfaces, and construction drawings and details
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
- Knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures in engineering design
- Ability to read and interpret engineering plans and documents
- Ability to handle complex design and drafting assignments with minimal supervision
- Excellent communication skills to interact with staff, clients, local jurisdictions, and consultants
- Ability to work independently, think critically and proactively, and function efficiently in a team-oriented, fast-paced environment
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with 3D modeling in AutoCAD or Revit
- Experience creating manuals that describe the operation, features, and maintenance of existing products
