The Mechanical Engineering Intern will work closely with various teams to support the development of Point of Sale solutions, including designing hardware and assisting in building prototypes. Responsibilities: - Work with team to create/modify designs for parts and assemblies - Work with team to update part drawings or specifications - Work with team on defects that arise from the design - Assist in building prototypes or early units - Learn about how our products go from an idea to a fully-fledged product - Perform other tasks as assigned Required Qualifications: - Ability to work without a need for current or future visa sponsorship - Background working in the Retail Industry - Assure that new equipment will safely comply with performance criteria for use with computer software programs and make any necessary hardware modifications to fix mistakes and other issues - Work with interdisciplinary design teams, such as those for hardware, mechanical, and software - Design new hardware using Solid Works - Practical experience with a variety of hardware devices - Exceptional written and verbal communication abilities - Self-driven with exceptional analytical and critiquing skills - Strong ability to solve problems - Attention to detail - Ability to function as a member of a small team Required Skills: Solid Works Important Skills: Hardware design, Analytical skills Nice-to-Have Skills: Communication skills, Problem-solving, Attention to detail, Teamwork
