Tony's Chocolonely→
New Product Development & Operations Buyer at Tony's… · Amsterdam
Job Description
Why we are here
Tony's Chocolonely is committed to ending exploitation in cocoa. We are an impact company that makes chocolate, not a chocolate company that makes impact. With incredibly tasty chocolate, we lead by example, demonstrating that ethical practices and success can go hand in hand. Through Tony's Open Chain (TOC), mission allies like Albert Heijn, Ben & Jerry's, Jokolade, and Aldi have embraced a fairer, more transparent supply chain for their chocolate too.
What you will do
We are looking for an NPD & Operations Buyer to join our Procurement team in Amsterdam. In this role, you are the link between creativity and execution: you make sure new products are launched on time, with the right suppliers, at the right cost, and without adding unnecessary complexity. Alongside NPD, you bring structure to procurement data, processes, and supplier interactions in a fast-moving, non-ERP environment. If you thrive on turning product ideas into sourcing reality and love bringing order to creative chaos, this is your role. The position reports to the Procurement Manager, Packaging & Inclusions.
All wrapped up
Lead end-to-end procurement for NPD: Drive the sourcing process from product idea to first production, translating product requirements into solutions aligned with Procurement strategy and policy.
Collaborate on supplier selection: Partner with category buyers to select suppliers based on strategic fit, cost, capacity, quality, scalability, and sustainability, with a preference for leveraging the existing supplier network.
Drive standardization: Challenge unnecessary customization and promote the reuse of existing materials and supplier solutions wherever possible.
Own procurement data and processes: Build and maintain key procurement master data for NPD and operational activities, and develop simple, scalable tools that improve efficiency across the team.
Support category buyers: Execute RFQs, supplier onboarding, quote analysis, and order follow-up to ensure smooth project delivery.
Contribute to cost optimization: Identify savings opportunities, provide input prices for business cases and Tony's Transfer Price, and prepare supplier negotiations with data and market insights.
Build strong supplier relationships: Act as the main point of contact during NPD projects, ensure clear communication and effective issue resolution, and monitor supplier performance against targets to drive continuous improvement.
