Overview
The Design Draftsperson is responsible for producing accurate, detailed, and code-compliant construction drawings for custom residential projects. This role supports the design team by translating design intent into high-quality technical documentation while maintaining company drafting standards, meeting project deadlines, and coordinating with internal teams and consultants.
A successful Design Draftsperson is detail-oriented, organized, responsive to feedback, and takes ownership of producing complete and accurate drawing sets. Key Responsibilities
- Prepare accurate architectural drawings and construction documents using Revit.
- Produce highly accurate as-builts and field measure sometimes complex homes and buildings.
- Develop permit and construction drawing sets based on the Designer's direction.
- Revise drawings promptly based on internal reviews, consultant feedback, and jurisdiction comments.
- Coordinate with designers, consultants, and internal team members to ensure accurate and complete construction documents.
- Ensure drawings comply with applicable building codes, zoning requirements, and company drafting standards.
- Perform quality control reviews to minimize drafting errors and omissions.
- Identify potential design or constructability issues and communicate them proactively to the project team.
- Maintain organized project files and documentation throughout the project lifecycle.
- Meet assigned project deadlines while managing multiple projects simultaneously.

- Collaborates effectively with the Design, Production, BIM, and Consultant teams to ensure coordinated, buildable documents.
- Demonstrates ownership, accountability, and proactive communication throughout every project.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Architecture or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Minimum of 2–3 years of residential drafting experience.
- Advanced proficiency in Revit; experience with SketchUp, D5 Render, Bluebeam, and Adobe Creative Suite is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of residential construction methods, California building codes, permitting, and construction documentation.
- Excellent architectural detailing skills with strong accuracy and attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple projects, meet deadlines, and communicate effectively.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced team environment.
