Thyssen Mining is seeking experienced Bolter Operators to join our underground mining operations in Saskatchewan. We are looking for safety-focused, production-minded individuals with proven experience operating MacLean bolters or Sandvik mechanized bolters in underground mine development environments.

Position Summary
The Bolter Operator is responsible for operating and maintaining underground bolting equipment while installing ground support systems in accordance with mine plans, safety procedures, and production targets. Successful candidates will have extensive experience with mechanized bolting equipment and a strong understanding of underground development mining practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Safely operate a MacLean, Sandvik, or similar mechanized bolter.
- Install split set bolts, resin rebars, screen, and other ground support systems.
- Read and interpret mine drawings, survey layouts, and bolt pattern specifications.
- Complete workplace inspections and identify ground control hazards.
- Perform pre-operational inspections and minor equipment maintenance.
- Monitor rock conditions and report safety concerns immediately.
- Maintain production and quality standards while following all safety requirements.
- Record operational information and communicate effectively with supervisors and crew members.
- Assist with troubleshooting equipment issues and report mechanical concerns promptly.
- Participate in crew meetings, safety programs, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Qualifications
Required
- Minimum 5 years of underground mine development experience.
- Demonstrated experience operating:
- MacLean Bolters, and/or
- Sandvik DS311, DS312, DS411 bolters or similar mechanized bolting equipment.
- Valid Underground Hard Rock Miner Common Core (or provincial equivalent).
- Strong understanding of ground support installation methods and standards.
- Ability to identify geological conditions including faults, joints, and unstable ground.
- Strong commitment to workplace health and safety.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Preferred
- Experience in remote camp mining operations.
- Experience with multiple bolter platforms.
- Mechanical aptitude and equipment troubleshooting skills.
Work Environment
- Underground hard rock mining environment.
- Physically demanding work.
- Rotational work schedules and camp accommodations is provided.
- Must be capable of working 12-hour shifts
