Job Description
Summary: Thomas Jefferson University is a nationally ranked institution dedicated to reimagining healthcare and education. The Population Health Student Intern will gain exposure to population health principles through hands-on experiences, including shadowing healthcare professionals and completing a capstone project.
Responsibilities:
- Interacts with co-workers, visitors, and other staff consistent with the values of Jefferson
- Participate in weekly educational sessions with subject matter experts
- Engage in operational meetings to observe population health principles in action
- Shadow healthcare professionals in various settings (street medicine, refugee health, post-acute care)
- Complete assigned self-directed learning modules through Jefferson's educational platforms
- Analyze health data and quality metrics using various dashboard tools
- Explore social determinants of health through community outreach experiences
- Develop and present a capstone project addressing a population health challenge
Required Qualifications:
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
- Curiosity and willingness to engage with diverse healthcare settings
- Critical thinking abilities to connect theoretical concepts to practical applications
- Education: Includes High School Diploma or GED, Bachelor's Degree or Master's Degree (Specify field). Also includes Schools like Medical Assistant, etc. NO listings like Bachelor's degree or relevant experience
- Education: Undergraduate or Graduate Students in Public Health, Health Sciences, or related fields
