Job Description
Summary: Think Together is a nonprofit organization dedicated to changing the odds for kids through expanded education programs. Interns will work under the mentorship of IT staff, assisting in various IT operations and gaining exposure to how a large nonprofit functions.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in tagging, labeling, and logging equipment into the inventory management system (Freshservice), to learn how enterprise organizations track hardware assets
- Support the device check-in/check-out process by shadowing and assisting team members, gaining insight into asset control and lifecycle planning
- Observe and assist with physical inventory audits and learn how discrepancies are reconciled within asset management systems
- Learn the basics of device preparation and setup by helping assemble deployment kits for new hires or site rollouts
- Participate in hardware decommissioning, including supervised data-wiping and recycling processes
- Join weekly Employee Productivity Team meetings to gain exposure to team planning, technical discussions, and strategic initiatives
- Collaborate with Helpdesk and Inventory teams to learn how IT operations align with broader organizational goals
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in progress – Candidates must be at least a rising junior or senior in college, having completed at least 2 years of undergraduate coursework preferably with coursework in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow structured processes
- Desire to work collaboratively, with an openness to feedback and desire to grow professionally
- Passion and enthusiasm for education, nonprofit administration, and/or community service
- Interest in IT operations, hardware systems, or nonprofit technology support
- Familiarity or willingness to learn IT asset management software such as Freshservice
- Basic understanding or interest in device management tools like Microsoft Intune is a plus
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel, Word, Outlook) for documentation and communication
- Comfortable using online collaboration tools such as Microsoft Teams and Zoom
- Ability to quickly learn new software and adapt to changing technology needs
