Digital Account Director (Planning & Client… at the7stars · England

About the7stars

the7stars is unlike any other agency. The distinction started the day we launched in 2005 when we named ourselves after a pub, but more importantly when we made a promise that we were going to do things differently.

And this commitment has stuck with us. It guides how we work, how we think and how we treat one another and can be expressed in a single word.

Freedom.

Our Freedom philosophy lives across our entire business from people, product and planning. It means we plan & buy media how we want, develop careers how we want, take holiday when we need it, invent tools when we need them, give people a platform to speak up, question and express themselves freely - but more importantly it has allowed us to create an amazing place to work.

We have a unique working environment and open structure which encourages personal development through client contact, teamwork, training, exposure to all media and internal teams – and a “sky’s the limit” approach to your growth within the agency.

the7stars is c300 passionate media people that are able to focus purely on creating great work for our clients.

If thinking freely and with integrity is your bag, then the7stars is an agency you should meet.

the7stars has a bespoke and inspiring working culture. We operate a flat structure without job titles and encourage an entrepreneurial attitude where you get out what you put in.

We are looking for people who get excited by the solution, have ideas and are passionate about the ability of media to make a real difference to businesses

The Role:

You will be a results-focused senior client lead, on a mission to deliver against your client’s business goals and improve your client’s digital maturity.

Working primarily across a home appliance retail client and you’ll be client facing as part of the broader Planning & Client Leadership team, sharing your planning expertise with clients as well as your team-mates.

A core part of the role is ensuring offline and digital media demonstrably drives sales and commercial outcomes. You’ll work closely with clients in trading and performance forums, translating business priorities and in‑market signals into agile media responses, underpinned by a strong focus on measurement, effectiveness and channel‑level impact.

A passion for client servicing, great organisation skills, a keen eye for detail and a strong ambition for your client as well as yourself are critical.

Core responsibilities:

• You’ll be the lead day-to-day client contact, maintaining a strong working relationship and ensuring we are continually considered as an extension of the marketing team including active participation in client trading and sales performance forums
• You’ll understand your client’s category, add value with your opinions and demonstrate an ability to make recommendations that will positively impact their businesses and commercial performance, with a clear focus on driving sales
• You’ll ensure the smooth running of the account, applying best-practice account management whilst staying close to reporting, results and opportunities for performance improvement
• You’ll deliver top notch attention to detail and accept delivering nothing less than top quality work particularly when responding reactively to in-market performance signals and business changes
• You’ll have a strong grasp of both digital performance and brand-led planning and will bring experience of devising and delivering plans which have consistently delivered against both brand and revenue outcomes
• You’ll define the role for all media channels within campaign strategies and be comfortable writing and presenting your recommendations with clear articulation of how activity contributes to business objectives and sales targets
• You will have a high-level technical understanding of all digital channels from paid search and social through to programmatic and SEO. You will be comfortable discussing the advancements in, and merits of, all digital channels to a high level with clients without requiring specialist support.
• You’ll brief and coordinate specialist teams to deliver integrated, cross-channel plans and clearly explain how channels work together, adapting activity in response to performance and product sales priorities
• You’ll have a sophisticated understanding on best practise measurement for digital channels and demonstrate this within your recommendation including working with analytics teams to implement robust effectiveness measures and aligned measurement roadmaps
• You’ll identify the opportunity for, and devise effective test and learn strategies to prove out the validity of your planning recommendations using results to inform optimisation and future planning
• You’ll understand and introduce new trends and media opportunities to clients and implement them across your plans where they can demonstrably drive incremental performance
• You’ll contribute to the overall upskilling of digital knowledge across the broader team and contribute to the learning and development of junior planners
• You’ll contribute to ‘beyond client’ work such as cross-agency collective ways of working as well as new business pitches outside of the day to day, bringing your expertise and passion for the future of media to the fore.
