Staff Accountant at The Wonderful Company in Los Angeles, CA

Summary: The Wonderful Company is known for its commitment to sustainability and community impact, and they are seeking a Staff Accountant to support both domestic and international accounting operations. This role involves executing core accounting functions, assisting with month-end close processes, and ensuring accurate financial reporting while collaborating with cross-functional teams. Responsibilities: - Support the month-end close process, including preparing journal entries, account reconciliations, and variance analyses - Partner with cross-functional teams to develop, document, and enhance accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls, including drafting SOPs - Support monthly financial reporting and track key A/R and A/P performance metrics (KPIs) - Assist with year-end audit activities, including preparation of audit schedules and PBC requests for both consolidated and statutory audits - Prepare and consolidate bi-weekly cash reporting for Treasury and executive leadership; assist with annual FBAR reporting - Provide support on ad hoc accounting and finance projects as needed - Support the ERP system implementation transition from Oracle EBS to Oracle Fusion, including data validation, testing, and process documentation - Prepare and file various government reports, including city compliance filings, property tax returns, and required surveys - Collaborate with business partners across multiple business units to prepare intercompany billings and quarterly intercompany confirmations - Assist with quarterly ASC 842 lease completeness testing - Proactively identify and implement process improvements within the Accounting function - Support cost accounting processes, including inventory valuation, cost analysis, and monitoring of standard vs. actual costs Required Qualifications: - Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field - Solid understanding of accounting principles (U.S. GAAP) - 1–3 years of relevant accounting experience - Effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate cross-functionally - Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (e.g., pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, data analysis) with the ability to leverage tools and technology to improve efficiency - Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills - Highly motivated, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic, fast-paced environment - Strong cross-functional collaboration skills, with the ability to navigate both accounting and operational responsibilities - Proactive in identifying, resolving, and clearly communicating issues Preferred Qualifications: - Experience with Oracle EBS or Fusion Required Skills: Accounting principles (U.S. GAAP), Microsoft Excel, Oracle EBS, Oracle Fusion, General ledger reconciliation, Journal entry preparation, Financial reporting, Audit preparation, Cash reporting, FBAR reporting, Cost accounting, Inventory valuation, Lease accounting (ASC 842), Proactive issue resolution Benefits: Access to top-notch medical coverage comprehensive vision and dental plans, and a 401k with match eligibility to secure your financial future and including:, 24/7 online physician consultations, Virtual mental health resources, Life coaching, Engaging employee community groups, Cash rewards for healthy habits and fitness reimbursements, Library of on-demand fitness videos, Unlock your potential with clear paths for career progression and internal mobility across our diverse family of brands and business units., Grow as a leader with our dedicated Learning and Organizational Development department, offering extensive resources like People Manager and leadership training, webinars, and eLearning courses., Connect with colleagues through our company-wide mentorship program to share goals, overcome challenges, and drive your career forward., Participate in training that empowers all employees to learn and implement concepts that drive significant, positive change in the workplace., Make a difference with Wonderful Giving, allowing you to allocate company-provided funds to up to three charities of your choice, and join Wonderful Neighbor to contribute to group service projects within our local communities.
