Job Description
Summary: The Walt Disney Company is a world-class entertainment and technological leader, seeking a Software Engineering Intern for their Data Products program. The intern will work in a collaborative environment to develop and enhance data products, integrating data and improving access for users across the enterprise.
Responsibilities:
- Integrating data from source systems into a cloud data platform (e.g., Snowflake)
- Performing data modeling and developing SQL queries to create data views and reusable data products
- Supporting development of a data catalog and improving metadata to enable data discovery and governance-aligned sharing
- Developing software and/or user interfaces that provide end users with self-service tools for accessing data
- Supporting integration patterns that allow data products to be consumed by downstream analytics and (where applicable) AI use cases
- Writing documentation and sharing learnings to help teams maintain and extend the solution
Required Qualifications:
- Experience with software development using Java and/or Python
- Experience working with data and developing database queries using SQL
- Experience working on collaborative teams in a fast-paced environment
- Currently enrolled as a junior or senior pursuing a bachelor's degree in Computer Science or other STEM related field at an accredited college or university
- Be enrolled in an accredited college/university taking at least one class in the semester/quarter (spring/fall) prior to participation in the internship program OR currently participating in a Disney College Program or Disney Internship
- Be at least 18 years of age
- Possess unrestricted work authorization
- Able to provide/have reliable transportation to/from work
- Fully available from Monday-Friday for the duration of the internship, 40 hours per week
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous experience with Snowflake or other cloud-based data platforms
- Some experience with AI applications and frameworks
