Job Description
Summary: The Walt Disney Company is a leader in entertainment, and they are seeking a Labor Relations Intern to support their Labor Relations team. The intern will assist with collective bargaining agreements, grievances, and labor-management issues while gaining experience in labor and human resources-related laws.
Responsibilities:
- Assisting with negotiation and arbitration logistics
- Supporting Labor Relations personnel with grievances, effect bargaining, and operations initiatives
- Conducting legal research to share with internal and external audiences
- Gathering confidential information in response to inquiries
- Archiving and maintaining documents
- Supporting projects and initiatives
- Performing other job-related duties as requested
- This position will also be trained as a backup to assist with the coverage of administrative functions
Required Qualifications:
- A high functional knowledge of Microsoft 365
- The ability to handle confidential information
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
- Proactive and takes initiative
- Able to work both independently and collaboratively
- The ability to thrive under pressure and manage fluctuating priorities
- Able to multitask and be flexible when unexpected issues arise by effectively handling changing situations
- Can communicate effectively, both orally and in writing
- The ability to understand and follow complex, detailed technical instructions
- Be enrolled in an accredited college/university, pursuing a degree, taking at least one class at the time of application, OR currently participating in a Disney College Program or Disney Internship
- Have not completed one year of continual employment on a Disney Internship or Disney College Program
- Be at least 18 years of age
- Possess unrestricted work authorization
- Fully available from Monday to Friday for the duration of the internship, 40 hours each week
- Be aligned with The Disney Look appearance guidelines
- Able to provide own housing for the duration of the internship program in the Orlando, Florida area
- Able to provide/have reliable transportation to/from work
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bilingual
- High functional knowledge of Workday, SharePoint, Teams, and Zoom
- Junior or Senior year preferred
- Pursuing a degree in Industrial and Labor Relations or a related major
