In-Person Grade 3-7 Academic Support &… at The Tutorverse · New York

Guide Students to Success!

Make a positive difference every day you go to work by teaming up with The Tutorverse! We’re all about creating and delivering innovative educational services and products that students need to succeed.

The Tutorverse is hiring an experienced educator for grade 3-7 academic support and test prep in the NYC area to help our students achieve!

Requirements

• Academic Support Experience: Applicants must have at least 3 years' experience in helping support grade 3-7 students in both ELA and math (science and/or history are a bonus).

• Test Prep Experience: Applicants must have experience in helping grade 3-7 students prepare for both ELA and math NY state tests (SHSAT, HSPT/TACHS, Hunter HS, or other entrance exams are a huge bonus and pay a higher rate).

• Location: Applicants must be available to travel to students for in-person instruction within NYC, primarily in Manhattan.

• Tech fluency: Since many in-person families are occasionally unable to meet in person, we will be asking you to deliver lessons via Zoom as you might with a real tutoring client - think of this like role playing with your interviewer being a student.

Benefits of being a Test Prep Expert with The Tutorverse

• Flexible schedule: Work as many hours as you want!

• Starting hourly rate of $80: We appreciate the experience that you bring to the role, and we compensate you as such! (If students continue from academic support to entrance exams like SHSAT, the rate increases.)

• No micromanagement: You’re experienced and knowledgeable, so teach your content, your way!

• Help with the boring stuff: We find the clients, help with scheduling, and enforce our cancellation policy all so you can focus on what you love to do - teach.

Additional Qualities You Bring to the Table

We're searching high and low for a reliable, organized, and experienced Academic Support Expert who is passionate and approachable. Our ideal candidate is:

• Dynamic and Engaging: You should be able to hold your own in front of students and deliver content in a dynamic and engaging manner.

• Experienced and has a Bachelor's Degree: We make a promise to our families that our instructors are truly experts in their respective fields, so we ask that you have a bachelor’s degree from a 4-year college or university, as well as three years of post-collegiate grade 3-7 teaching experience.
