Job Description
Summary: The Standard is a company focused on making a difference in the lives of others through a customer-first mindset. The tax internship within the Corporate Finance and Accounting division aims to provide students with hands-on experience and skills necessary for a successful career in taxation, involving various tax-related tasks and activities.
Responsibilities:
- Aid in the preparation of quarterly and year-end tax provision calculations (ASC 740)
- Preparation of federal and state income tax returns
- Preparation of tax adjustment workpapers
- Tax related account reconciliations
- Premium tax, sales and use and property tax returns or workpapers preparation
- Support or preparation of daily tax withholding deposits with federal and state government entities
- Preparation of quarterly information returns and analysis
- Processing tax related payments and recording of tax related journal entries
- Process improvement projects
- Observation and meeting with executive leadership
- Other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications:
- Undergrad or graduate student studying accounting or finance
- A desire to learn and engage with our team
- Effective communication skills
