We are looking for a Digital Transformation Advisor to join our growing Digital Transformation team. This is an exciting opportunity to work directly with manufacturing organisations, helping them identify, develop, and implement Industry 4.0 solutions that drive productivity, efficiency, and commercial success.

About the Role

As a trusted advisor, you will work closely with manufacturing clients to understand their business challenges and identify opportunities where digital technologies can deliver measurable value. You will combine consultancy, stakeholder engagement, and technical expertise to support organisations on their digital transformation journeys.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Assessing client needs and identifying opportunities for digital transformation.
• Applying recognised assessment frameworks to evaluate digital maturity and capability.
• Facilitating workshops and stakeholder engagements to uncover business improvement opportunities.
• Developing business cases, value propositions, and transformation roadmaps.
• Advising on the selection and implementation of digital and business information systems.
• Supporting pilot projects and proof-of-concept activities to validate solutions.
• Working collaboratively with clients, technology partners, and internal specialists to deliver successful outcomes.

What We're Looking For

We're seeking an individual who combines strong technical understanding with excellent consultancy and relationship-building skills.

You will ideally have experience or knowledge of:

• Manufacturing systems such as ERP, MRP, MES and PLM.
• IT and Operational Technology (OT) architectures.
• Manufacturing data flows and information systems.
• Digital transformation, process improvement, or manufacturing consultancy.
• Industry 4.0 technologies and emerging digital solutions.

The following would be advantageous:

• Manufacturing operational efficiency methodologies.
• Business process re-engineering.
• Change management principles.

The Manufacturing Technology Centre (MTC) was established in 2010 as an independent Research & Technology Organisation (RTO) with the objective of bridging the gap between academia and industry – often referred to as ‘the valley of death’.

It represents one of the largest public sector investments in UK manufacturing and, after four years of planning and a 16 month build, the facility opened at Ansty Park in Coventry at the end of 2011.

In December 2011, there were 16 industrial members, 44 staff and just a few key pieces of equipment in the ‘workshop’.

Over the following seven years the MTC’s rapid growth has seen the expansion of our campus with the construction of three more facilities, including the opening of the Advanced Manufacturing Training Centre and the National Centre for Additive Manufacturing.

Our role has also increased to cover not only R&D but also Training, Advanced Manufacturing Management and Factory Design.

We now have over 700 talented employees working with us.

During this time we have helped hundreds of companies across a range of industries and over 100 of them have become members of the MTC.
