Join an Organisation dedicated to Closing the Gap in Indigenous Health
About Us?
The Institute for Urban Indigenous Health Ltd was established by its founding members to provide a coordinated/integrated approach to the planning, development and delivery of comprehensive primary health care services for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander populations within the Southeast Qld Region.
The IUIH Mental Health and Wellbeing Service provides culturally safe, holistic social and emotional wellbeing support to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander individuals, families and communities across the region. The service is delivered through a combination of Staying Deadly Hubs, Staying Deadly Mobile Outreach Brisbane and general Social Health teams embedded within IUIH member service clinics. Together, these teams work in an integrated way to meet people where they are at, offering flexible, strengths-based support that is grounded in cultural connection, relationship-building and self-determination. Services respond to a broad range of social, emotional and wellbeing needs, including mental health, suicide prevention, family and community wellbeing, and healing from trauma, with a strong focus on early intervention, continuity of care and community-led approaches.
Our services are continuing to expand across the Southeast Queensland region and we are meeting the needs to provide quality Social Health services across the community to improve the emotional wellbeing of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.
