Location: STORE SUPPORT CENTER, ATLANTA - 9090

Position Purpose:
The Corporate Communications Manager will be responsible for supporting the Director in driving strategic collaboration with various corporate functions, planning, tactical execution and measurement of corporate PR initiatives or executive and financial communications through mainstream and social media channels. He/She will also assist in implementing a proactive strategy to help Home Depot anticipate and deal with public issues affecting the company and its industry. In addition, the Corporate Communications Manager will assist in responding to daily inquiries by local and industry trade media, as well as various inquiries received through social media channels.
Key Responsibilities:
25% Write and edit corporate press releases, media kit materials, issue briefs, and other communications materials
Develop key messaging for various corporate initiatives
Research and develop unique content to support corporate PR and social media efforts
25% Conduct proactive media outreach and strategic story development
Respond to various local and industry trade media inquires
Develop and maintain strategic relationships with key field contacts or key executive contacts
25% Assist with requests from outside organizations for occasional speaking appearances by functional leaders and award entries
Assist in coordinating local and national media opportunities with stores, certain functions or functional field leadership
25% Occasionally, respond to inquiries regarding customer service issues Research the public impact of various proactive and reactive media initiatives Monitor results and develop reporting for key functional stakeholders

Travel Requirements:
Typically requires overnight travel less than 10% of the time.
Physical Requirements:
Most of the time is spent sitting in a comfortable position and there is frequent opportunity to move about. On rare occasions there may be a need to move or lift light articles.
Working Conditions:
Located in a comfortable indoor area. Any unpleasant conditions would be infrequent and not objectionable.

Savvy and knowledgeable of social media trends and innovations. Depth of knowledge with social media, viral and online word-of-mouth best practices
Solid understanding of PR and social media metrics
Ability to build close relationships with the press to improve effectiveness of pitching activities
