Job Description
Summary: The Home Depot is a leading home improvement retailer, and they are seeking a Lot Associate to assist customers with loading orders and ensuring a safe and welcoming parking lot. The role emphasizes customer service and safety, requiring the associate to interact with customers, maintain cleanliness, and follow safety protocols.
Responsibilities:
- Following Home Depot’s GET Model of customer service including Greeting, Engaging, and Thanking the customer
- Maintain a sufficient quantity of carts near the entrance of the store
- When required, ask open ended questions about the customer’s projects in order to determine their needs and level of expertise
- Approach customers to determine if they need help loading product into vehicles and/or shopping carts
- Plan the best method of loading and securing merchandise in customer’s vehicle as per Safe Loading Training
- Ensure that all exits/loading areas are not blocked or cluttered; sweep and clean debris off front apron and lumber loading pad
- Follows all Safety and Loss Prevention policies and procedures
- Using appropriate safety procedures with all equipment
Required Qualifications:
- Highschool Diploma or Equivalent
- 1 to 2 years Retail experience
- Interpersonal skills
- Organizational skills
- Attention to detail
- Bending, stooping, reaching, twisting, lifting, pushing, pulling, and moving items
- Working within a flexible schedule that may include evening and weekends
- Warehouse environment that can be dusty and noisy
- Working in all weather conditions – frequent exposure to different weather conditions when loading and unloading product
