Summary: The Health Management Academy (THMA) brings together health system leaders and innovators to address the industry's biggest challenges. They are offering a Summer Internship Program for students to gain hands-on research experience in health services and health policy, working closely with the Health Impact Alliance team. Responsibilities: - Provide background research (e.g., literature reviews, metric identification) for projects and reports on topics related to health services and health policy - Develop and apply knowledge of various healthcare datasets (e.g., Modern Healthcare, American Hospital Association) as it relates to the strategic priorities of large health systems and healthcare companies - Assist with advanced data visualization and storytelling methods (e.g., graphs, interactive charts, data segmentations) - Conduct quantitative and qualitative analyses in Excel and/or with other statistical tools - Create and format tables, charts, presentations and other graphics - Other duties as assigned by the Director and/or other Senior Research Staff Required Qualifications: - Intern candidates are current students pursuing their undergraduate or graduate degree, preferably entering their Senior or final year, respectively - Experience working on multiple tasks and projects in a fast-paced environment is essential - An interest in healthcare is a plus - Ability to work 25-29 hours per week for 10 weeks starting Tuesday, June 8th, 2026 - Must be able to come into the office 2 times a week (Arlington, VA) - Collaborative - Customer-focused - Team approach to working with others - Process oriented with the ability to drive a project to completion - Attention to detail - Ability to work independently and as a team member - Self-directed and resourceful - Excellent communication - Excellent organizational skills from planning to execution of tasks and projects Required Skills: Qualitative research, Quantitative research, Data visualization Important Skills: Excel, Healthcare knowledge Benefits: Health insurance, Dental insurance, Vision insurance, 401(k) matching, Cell phone and commuter reimbursements, Generous paid time off, Paid parental leave, Learning and development programs, Coaching for working parents and caregivers, Free therapy and professional coaching sessions, One-on-one financial coaching, Free legal support services
