Job Description
Summary: The Hartford is a leading insurance company specializing in employee benefits solutions. The role of Quote Specialist involves analyzing Requests for Proposal, managing data for accuracy, and ensuring timely delivery of proposals while collaborating with internal and external partners.
Responsibilities:
- Analyzes initial Requests for Proposal (RFPs), underwriting guidelines, state requirements and product offerings to identify if offer can be made; completes and responds effectively to all RFPs by partnering with internal and external business partners
- Proficiency in manual rating for all products sold in PA space (ex: STD, LTD and Life, Voluntary products)
- Systematically scrubs data- both RFP, Census and Experience data, for completeness and in accordance with minimum data requirements
- Understanding of plan designs to sets up and builds plan designs in the Hartford’s rating platform(s)
- Must understand account structure to complete the rating
- Reviews rating reports for accuracy and reasonability; understands variances
- Provides accurate and timely delivery of proposal, meets quality guidelines and turnaround times
- Ensures appropriate information flow to senior team members and to producers, field representatives, and third parties
- Manages work queue, escalates urgent issues to manager and proposes work solutions as necessary
- Proactively maintains case status in systems and assists Regional Account Executive
- Champions continuous improvement and change through identifying, planning and implementing improvements for the team or department
- Participates in special projects which support segment needs and effectively assesses and communicates business impacts
- Adheres to required documentation standards
Required Qualifications:
- Knowledge of employee benefits products; must be able to review and understand prior carrier booklets
- This position requires an 18-month commitment before being able to post internally for another role
- Understands organizational processes, methods and systems
- Solid working knowledge of products and operational parameters
