They are seeking a Junior Software Engineer to contribute to the development and maintenance of Java applications that support underwriting workflows across Global Specialty lines of business. Responsibilities: - Contribute to the design, development, testing, and maintenance of Java/J2EE applications for E2E underwriting lifecycle - Build and enhance Spring Boot–based REST APIs under guidance from senior engineers - Implement data persistence using ORM frameworks (Hibernate/JPA) with PostgreSQL and exposure to NoSQL data stores - Assist with caching strategies (e.g., in-memory or distributed caching) to improve throughput and response times - Support integration patterns across intake, rating, and downstream policy systems - Write clean, testable, and maintainable code aligned with engineering standards - Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies, backlog refinement, and sprint delivery - Troubleshoot defects, analyze logs, and assist with performance tuning - Learn and apply modern engineering practices, including CI/CD and automated testing - Communicate Effectively: Proactively communicate risks, issues, and mitigations to stakeholders - Embrace Future Technologies: Lead innovative efforts, leveraging modern technologies to solve customer problems.
